All eyes are on her the moment she walks in, the sound of the chit chats and the noise suddenly become mute. She can feel it, the silence audience. Staring and watching, cursing that comes from a bunch of girls in the corner. She walks past the bats eyes, feeling fragile as always. The only people who actually smile at her are the baristas and the cleaner. "Welcome miss, what shall i get you?" asks the cashier behind the counter with a bright smile along with a white set of teeth, beautiful, that crosses her mind quickly as if the cashier is the loveliest woman she's ever seen, or probably the only person who looks at her like she's no stranger. Like she also belongs to be in the cafe too. She looks over the esperesso machine and finally breaths a word, "One Espresso Forte, please." Her favorite, her dad used to bring her to any coffee shops and it's the only thing she has ever ordered. Ever. "Sugar?" "Yes?" she looks up spontaneously. "Is that a yes? You want it with sugar miss?" the cashier seems confused. Her eyes widen, her mind's absorbed in a pang of realization, "I'm sorry, no sugar, no please." she said with a warm smile.
She glances at her watch over and over again. Is he late? Or I'm too early? Her mind starts to flutter, her heart beats faster and more rapid than normal. Maybe it is not a good idea at all, perhaps it's not the perfect time to do this. But too late, the cafe's door is pulled and he's making his way in. Those blue eyes stop at her, and that flawless lips grins towards her. She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath, that's when her heart beats the fastest.
She opens her eyes to see him already sitting in front of her, studying her. "Look Dex, I asked you to come here for one reason. It's just not right, impossible for us to even be together. I'm the type of girl who's nobody favorites, every single and little thing I do won't change who I am. Last time you asked me why, it's because of who I am, Dex. I'm a bitch. I worked in the clubs, I slept with every men i've ever encountered with. And they all call me Sugar, because I sweeten their bed and I get income for that. It's my name now. I never finished high school, i went behind bars for robbery. My dad freaking kicked me out of the house. I do drugs. I am not a good person, and even now you can see how everybody looks at me, as if I'm disgusting. As if I'm a walking pest who only wrecks everything I touch. And that is all true, I'm only gonna wreck you. If there's any way for us to be with each other, there is none. Men wait for no tides, it's a complete vain and misery if you keep liking me. You need not someone like me. I don't deserve you. I'm sorry, Dex." She pours out, holding back her tears. She takes out a Malboro from her bag and lit it up, at least it would prevent the urge to cry. And he says nothing.
She doesn't know how much he wants to stop her from saying those things. Or how much he hates to hear the word 'impossible'. Nothing is impossible with her. She can make stars look like fireworks, she is the light in the oblivion, the warrior among the survivors. She's a sunshine to the world. At least, his world. She doesn't know much he loves her voice, or the way she hums her favorite song when she's not noticing. He loves seeing her spoiled make-up face, lipsticks and mascara all over her face after she's done with her work. How much he wants to caress and play with her smooth hair, to kiss her red lips whenever he sees her. How badly he wants to see her everyday, or how horrible it is to not being able to sleep without her on his side. How much he doesn't care about anything else except for her. And, he likes sugar.
He took her hand and pulled it closer to his lips, kissing the back of her silky hand. "I'm not going anywhere." He said. She can't help but smiling, feeling the flowers blooming in her heart. Out of all people who could never accept her, there he is. And she knows, even if she ever chooses to walk on the opposite route, she would eventually turn back.
